Bellevue College is seeking a strategic and visionary leader to serve as its Vice President of Student Affairs.

Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Student Affairs serves as the senior student affairs officer of the College and provides leadership of all student affairs programs, services, and activities. The Vice President serves on the President’s Cabinet and is responsible for direct services provided to students, student information, student discipline, and student records.

This leader will enhance the student experience through collaboration with campus partners, expand efforts to maximize student success, retention, and enrollment, foster and support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, and manage a complex portfolio while developing and supporting their team. The next Vice President will advance strategies and programs to increase persistence, retention, and academic success for all students with a focus on equity, access, and diversity.

This role requires a master’s degree or equivalent from a regionally accredited institution in student affairs, counseling, student personnel administration, or closely related field. Relevant work experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-by-year basis. The ideal candidate will have prior administrative and academic leadership experience from within higher education that shows increasing complexity and progressively responsible duties. Experience from within the Washington community and technical college system would be an advantage. This person will have demonstrated skills in planning, developing and monitoring budget, policies and procedures, and proven leadership in creating or directing programs and systems to enhance student access, success and completion.  

The next Vice President will be a steadfast advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across all dimensions of the college. This person will have a demonstrated record of success championing leadership efforts that advance racial equity and foster a culture of belonging that advances racial, social, and economic justice. This person will have a demonstrated commitment to and track record of promoting and supporting the trajectory of students and the careers of individuals from historically excluded and underrepresented populations. The next Vice President will be self-motivated, proactive, resourceful, adept at building relationships, empathetic, a servant leader, and service-oriented with a keen focus on the organization they serve.

The anticipated annual salary range for the position is $138,661 - $207,992. Typically, the new hire starts no higher than $175,000 based on the Bellevue College Exempt salary schedule. The final annual salary will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and related experience. This position is eligible for relocation allowance.
